The proposed increase in charges for communication towers proposed by the 2016 budget would not cause any considerable impacts on the sector, said Dialog Axiata Director/Group Chief Executive Officer Dr. Hans Wijesuriya.
He said in response to a question raised during a function at the Dialog head office on Colombo.
While presenting his budget proposals for 2016, the Finance Minister stated that while taking into consideration the negative impacts on the environment, the annual charges for communication towers would be increased to Rs. 50,000.
