Duminda Silva, who was appointed to the Touchwood Board last week has resigned from the directorship, six days after his appointment.
According to the firm, Silva has resigned with effect from the 29th of September, while he was appointed to the board on the 23rd of this month.
The parliamentarian was appointed as a ‘Non Executive / Independent Director’ of the firm
His resignation comes in the wake of Touchwood Investments PLC announcing to its shareholders on Monday that the company has brought in a set of new investors help revive the troubled entity.
Sri Lanka’s Securities and Exchange Commission in the early part of this month started a fully fledged investigation into the business affairs of Touchwood Investments PLC.
The company is also currently having a court case against it, filed by a petitioner, who wants the court to order the winding up the forestry management firm.
