Top professional Sriyan De Silva Wijeyeratne has joined the Board of Abans Plc as an Independent Non Executive Director.
Sriyan brings a wealth of multi-disciplinary experience which is expected to enhance Abans Plc as it moves forward under the leadership of Aban Pestonjee.
He has played leading roles in blue chip corporations in the fields of IT, telecommunications, consumer marketing and retail sales. Currently Sriyan is the Managing Director of a leading public company and he was the former Country Head of Microsoft, a Director at Suntel and began his career at Nestle. Educated at St. Peter’s College, Sriyan had an outstanding school career as Head Prefect, and captained the College in two sports while obtaining the best results in the country at the G.C.E. Advanced Level examinations.
Sriyan has strong academic records with a First Class Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Financial Management and has recognition as an FCMA and a CGMA while being an alumnus of INSEAD. He also has several academic and business awards to his credit and is a frequent speaker at leading forums locally and globally.
His key skills include driving growth and business expansion amidst competitive conditions and multi-dimensional challenges both locally and in overseas markets. He was previously named the CIMA Business Manager of the Year and is involved in many business chambers in Sri Lanka and in several local and global charities.
